Federal College Work Study (FCWS
Time Card Information
Time cards or time sheets are to be completed by the last Saturday of a work period and all copies given to the student's supervisor for authorized signature. The payroll copy of the time card is then submitted to the ISU Payroll Office by the date indicated in the table Payroll Schedule (see appropriate year).
Note: Students in the FWS program may be paid a maximum of 20 hours per week (40 hours per week during school breaks). Federal regulations mandate that students cannot work more than 8 hours per day/40 hours per seven-day-week.
Pay Checks
Pay checks are available at the Cashier's Office in the Administration Building on scheduled pay dates (see appropriate year). Students must show photo identification to pick up their checks. Checks may be mailed to out of town addresses of the original timecard was signed by the student and a self-addressed and stamped envelope was turned in with the timecard. If a student's timecard does not meet the deadlines for submission to Payroll, the student's pay check will not be available until the next pay day. In cases where this created genuine hardship, an advance against this money already earned may be possible, upon approval from Payroll.
Final FWS time cards must be submitted to the ISU Payroll Office by the end of May of each year. Any time cards submitted to payroll after, will be paid from employer departmental funds.
