Landscaping
Landscaping around 15 on-campus building is provided with “xeriscape-type landscaping” using native plants and organic mulch. Xeriscaping at the University has provided water conservation in an area equal to 91,189 square feet, and a savings of 2,728,375 gallons per year.
Program Results
- Yearly – 4,320 cubic feet = 160 cubic yards mulch produced from maintenance
- Yearly – 6,480 cubic feet = 240 cubic yards landscape cover created from tree maintenance
- Yearly - $3,875 Saved by Recycling/dig up/greenhouse Cannas and Spikes plants and reused
