Additional Implementation Resources
The TIGERi project is much more than just an IT project! It is an opportunity to examine our business processes to make them more efficient and effective. Business process decisions should be driven by how end users can best be served. Check out some tools that will help us through the implementation adventure.
Guiding Principles
Banner will be implemented as delivered
- Banner incoporates the best practices developed at many other institutions.
- ISU will adapt their business practices to conform to Banner.
- All instutional data will reside in the Banner database.
- Data standards will be followed by all departments.
Managing Expectations
- This project will change the way everyone interacts with the university.
- Change disrupts normal activity and is difficult to adjust to.
- Patience, perseverance, and creativity will be required from all of us.
To Find the Best Solutions, We Need to Think Outside the Box!
- We have an opportunity to re-engineer business processes to take best advantage of Banner functionality.
- We need to avoid the mentality that “We have to do it that way!” or “We’ve always done it that way.”
SunGard Consultants
- SunGard consultants will recommend best practice solutions.
- They worked in higher education before becoming consultants.
- Most were Banner experts before becoming consultants
- SunGard serves only higher education institutions
