Computer Security is your job too!

The best high tech security system is of no use if you are careless with your access information.

Protect your passwords

  • Don't share them with anyone.

  • Don't let anyone share theirs with you.

  • Don't write them down where someone else might find them.

  • Don't tell your computer to remember them for you.

  • Choose a complicated password, preferably combining letters and numbers.

  • Change your password periodically.

Protect Your Computer

  • Log out when you leave your desk.

  • Don't let others read over your shoulder.

To increase the security of your information, most systems automatically log you out after a few minutes of inactivity. For example:

  • BengalWeb times out after 60 minutes of inactivity.
