BengalWeb Tip of the Week

Recently, we've had a number of inquiries about how to edit what is displayed in the Time Approval channel found on the Employees tab within BengalWeb. To address these concerns, follow the instructions below to change what is displayed in your Time Approval channel.

As we near the end of pay period 5, many of you have noticed that the list of links displayed in your Time Approval channel has been growing and growing, and it now may be difficult to quickly find your currently pending approvals. If the most recent links seem to be missing, be careful not to overlook the “More” link at the bottom of the list. Clicking on this will bring up a list of all links available for viewing. HOWEVER, you can make matters even easier by editing the display in your Time Approval Channel to show Pending Records Only. When you do this, only the links leading to time sheets that have been submitted and are waiting for your approval will be displayed. See below for instructions.

Editing What is Displayed in the Time Approval Channel
 You can change what is displayed in the Time Approval channel by clicking on the Edit icon in the upper right-hand corner:



The Time Approval screen appearsFrom here you can set Preferences for what you wish to see displayed.



Step 1. Select the Payroll Method. The default setting of All is displayed.  Do not change this. At the moment, Leave Request and Leave Reports are not available preference options, and if you select either of these no links will be displayed in your channel.



Step 2. Number of Rows. Enter the number of rows (number of links) you wish to see displayed.



Step 3. Display. Select All Records or Pending Records Only. If you select Pending Records Only, only the links leading to time sheets that have been submitted and are waiting for your approval will be displayed.



Step 4. Click Apply and then Back. When you are done selecting your preferences click Apply to save the settings, then Back to return to the Employees tab. You'll see your new preferences displayed.



If you wish to return to your default settings, simply click Reset
