Look Who's TALKING about TIGERi!
Over the last few weeks, TIGERi team members have been presenting information to various constituents across campus about the many new and exciting improvements this project will be bringing to the Idaho State University campus.
What's coming first?
Idaho State University’s new portal, BengalWeb, will provide a single point of access for electronic services and information. Portals present information from diverse sources in a unified way. iGoogle and MyYahoo are two portals you might be familiar with. BengalWeb’s goals are to:
- Provide a single sign-on, one stop shop for students, faculty, and staff to conduct university business online.
- Increase communication on campus between students, faculty, staff, and administration.
- Serve as an easy access point for all university information and services
As plans currently stand, students will begin using their new web portal sometime next spring. BengalWeb will provide many new opportunities to organize information electronic resources in one location instead of a variety of different web sites. Our goal is to provide single sign-on access through BengalWeb to:
- personal calendar
- course schedule
- university information systems
- communication tools
- library resources
- Moodle—plus many other exciting features!
In the future...
- Pay Fees Online! This means no more waiting in lines.
- Group Studio! BengalWeb offers students, faculty, and staff the ability to create and manage group homepages for clubs, workgroups, or committees. Group Studio offers online tools for collaboration, communication, and information sharing. And much more...
