Look Who's TALKING about TIGERi!
Over the last few weeks, TIGERi team members have been presenting information to various constituents across campus about the many new and exciting improvements this project will be bringing to the Idaho State University campus. iGoogle and MyYahoo are two portals you might be familiar with.
- On December 1, all employees will be able to begin using their new web portal, BengalWeb. Its customizable, user-friendly interface will provide a single point of access for electronic services and information. Portals present information from diverse sources in a unified way.
- In January 2009, Human Resources/Payroll will go live in Banner. Online lookup of your payroll information will replace printed direct deposit slips. The Banner system will make it much easier to track and manage employee information and activities. On December 1, most ISU employees will begin entering their time online. More information will be coming soon.

BengalWeb
The portal will provide many new opportunities to organize electronic resources in one location instead of in a variety of different web sites. Our goal is to provide single sign-on access through BengalWeb to:
- personal calendar
- employee information
- university information systems
- communication tools
- library resources
- Moodle—plus many other exciting features!
In the future...
- Pay Fees Online! This means no more waiting in lines.
- Multiple Direct Deposit Accounts! HR/Payroll will provide the ability for students, faculty, and staff to have multiple direct deposit accounts. For example, an employee could deposit their money into three separate accounts: savings, regular checking, and a vacation fund. It’s up to you!
- Group Studio! BengalWeb offers students, faculty, and staff the ability to create and manage group homepages for clubs, workgroups, or committees. Group Studio offers online tools for collaboration, communication, and information sharing. And much more...
Training opportunties:
Training on the new features will be offered through online tutorials, videos, and user’s guides. There will also be in-person training, hands-on demonstrations, and open lab hours. Training opportunities will be provided in a timely manner to ensure that everyone has the opportunity to learn the skills necessary to effectively carry out their jobs. TigerGuides in all departments of the university will also be on hand to answer basic questions about TIGERi and commonly performed tasks within their department.
