HR/Payroll Implementation Underway!

HR/Payroll team members attending training.
Anyone who receives a paycheck will be interested in the TIGERi Human Resources (HR)/Payroll module implementation currently in progress. When the HR/Payroll module of the TIGERi project is fully operational, faculty, staff, and student employees will be able to:
- enter time sheets,
- review applications, and
- track benefits online in a secure, user-friendly environment.
At the kick-off, members of the HR/Payroll team gathered for an overview of HR/Payroll goals and objectives, with an emphasis on learning the skills needed to implement the Banner system that the TIGERi project will be using. Learning the skills needed to utilize Banner is necessary to ensure the HR/Payroll module will run smoothly and paychecks will be processed correctly once the module is implemented. Subsequent sessions have focused on employee classification and compensation. HR/Payroll team also reviewed current business practices to ensure our day-to-day operations work efficiently and effectively within Banner.
TIGERi integrated technology, powered by Banner software, will give us the opportunity to streamline our day-to-day processes and make improvements based on procedural best practices. The members of the HR/Payroll team will be a part of the important quest to find more effective methods to operate our university.
The HR/Payroll module includes:
- Benefits administration
- Recruitment
- Payroll
- Other general human resources activities
The HR/Payroll module is scheduled for production next January. As HR/Payroll team lead Ray Ludwig observed, this will be an exciting time for all of us: “Students, faculty, and staff interact with HR/Payroll on a daily basis; changing and updating our procedures will affect everyone.”![]()
