ERP Branded TIGERi!
TIGERi is here! Idaho State University’s new ERP project name was selected from more than 100 entries submitted by the Name that Project! contest. Four similar entries submitted by Cathy Blair, Linda Balko, Kathy Ludwig, Mike Thomas and Alissa Salmore won the contest.
TIGERi will reshape university business practices by gathering services into a one-stop shop making it faster, easier, and more efficient to conduct business with the university. When the TIGERi system is in full operation, the university community will be able to register for classes, apply for financial aid, calculate payroll, and track expenses online in a secure, user-friendly environment. Improved access to online services creates greater efficiency which will help ISU remain competitive as well as attract prospective students.
“TIGERi’s new slogan ‘Technology Integration for ISU’ captures the heart of the project. By integrating services into a single system, we will be able to enhance services for everyone and improve productivity for University operations,” states David Alexander, project manager.
Behind the scenes project activities are rapidly picking up. The Finance Team is hard at work developing the new chart of accounts, which will form the basis of our new accounting system within the Banner ERP system. The Portal and Document Management Teams kicked off the implementation of these new systems the third week of January. Enrollment Management held their official kickoff in January also. Oracle and Banner Administration training classes for Information Technology Services (ITS) staff are also underway. Another cross-functional group is working to document data definitions and standards for the new system.
More than one 100 faculty, staff, and students are already working on several teams to implement TIGERi. This process will take three years to complete, although some changes will be visible later this year.
These are exciting times for ISU as TIGERi will reshape university business practices and provide information and services needed to support the ISU community.
