Idaho State University, which recently completed a process to solicit bids and evaluate proposals for an Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) system, will implement a complete ERP system, Provost and Vice President for Academic Affairs Dr. Robert A. Wharton has announced.
Wharton said the first step in this process will be to purchase an Oracle database to serve as the foundation for development of the system. At the same time negotiations will continue to purchase “Banner” Finance, Human Resource, and Advancement modules from SunGard Higher Education. Other options to complete the ERP system in student services and financial aid are currently being evaluated.
Work also will begin immediately to develop and implement a data warehouse and a suite of reporting tools, as well as a unified campus portal, Wharton said. These near-term aspects of the ERP system will expand self-service functions and result in improved access to information for students, faculty, and staff, as well as meet our immediate ERP-related accreditation objectives.
