ERP Vendor Demonstrations.
Idaho State University is beginning a project to replace its administrative computer systems with an integrated Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) system. We are currently evaluating responses from two vendors that have responded to a Request for Proposals (RFP). One important step in this evaluation will be week-long demonstrations of the proposed solution from each vendor. These demonstrations, which will follow a script developed by the evaluation committee, will occur the weeks of December 11 and December 18.
All faculty and staff are encouraged to attend and provide feedback. A detailed schedule for the demonstrations is available to help you plan when topics of special interest to you will be presented. We recognize that the timing of these demonstrations is far from ideal. Unfortunately, the dates available for the demonstrations were tightly constrained by factors beyond our control.
The detailed schedule for each demonstration week, along with the scripts that vendors will follow, can be found at the ERP Project website.
This ERP system will include modules for
- financial services (for example, budgeting, purchasing, and paying bills)
- human resources/payroll (for example, hiring employees, establishing employee benefits, entering and tracking time worked, and paying employees),
- student information (including, recruiting and admissions, course catalog and schedules, registration, grade entry, transcripts, and degree audit),
- financial aid (including receiving applications for financial aid, disbursing financial aid, scholarships, and loans)
- advancement (including alumni relations and university advancement)
These services, as well as many other university services will be integrated through a new university portal, which will provide a single point of access for university computer services. When the new ERP system is in full operation in 2010, we expect to experience significantly improved services for faculty staff, and students. One of the significant goals of the project is to provide greater access to information for faculty and staff and to improve the efficiency of operation of the university.
