Doctoral Job Placement
The Ph.D. in English and the Teaching of English is a conversion from the department's D.A. in English, a program in English studies and pedagogy, which accepted students from 1971-2008. In that time, we placed over 90% of graduates in tenure-track college-level teaching positions. Below is a list of the positions obtained by our D.A. graduates since 1997. With the Ph.D., the department will continue to train students for teaching careers in English at two- and four-year schools and we offer job coaching to assist doctoral students in their academic job searches.
We will update this information as our final group of D.A. students and initial Ph.D. students graduate in the coming years.
