I’m a native Idahoan (born in Idaho Falls) who was pleasantly surprised to get an opportunity to return to the area. I’ve been in Pocatello since 2004. In the interim I had the chance to get to know the rest of the country and teach at some very fine Universities. I’ve held full-time positions at UCLA, University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign, and Texas Tech University. It’s good to be back in the mountains.
Currently, most of my research time is spent exploring ways to reformulate logical systems for implementation in optics. It’s fascinating work, but leaves me less time than I would like for philosophy. In philosophy, my research focuses on issues in semantics and more broadly on the relation and application of logical theory to philosophical problems. I’m also taking some time to renew a longstanding interest in philosophy of religion.
