Physical Therapy Program Information

Introduction

The Doctor of Physical Therapy (DPT) is a professional entry level degree program preparing students for licensure to practice as physical therapists. The program is accredited by the Commission on Accreditation in Physical Therapy Education of the American Physical Therapy Association (CAPTE).

The Doctor of Physical Therapy was granted accreditation status by the Commission on Accreditation in Physical Therapy Education in April of 2002. The DPT program has been in continuos compliance with CAPTE Standards since its first accreditation. Program Mission

the primary mission of the Doctor of Physical Therapy Program is to provide entry-level education in a supportive learning environment fostering diverse and interdisciplinary didactic and clinical experiences, clinical skill acquisition, and a desire for lifelong learning to enhance the delivery of physical therapy services and the profession. Further, the program emphasizes faculty and student enrichment through scholarly endeavors, teaching, service, and clinical practice contributions within their areas of expertise.
