Sari Byerly

Sari Byerly
TRiO Director
Sari Byerly has worked for TRIO programs since 2002. She started her journey working with Upward Bound at the University of Utah. She completed her Bachelors of Science in Psychology and Masters of Social Psychology at the University of Utah and her doctorate in Educational Leadership through the University of Idaho. She has been fortunate to find a home working for TRIO.
She feels privileged to have the opportunity to direct the TRiO programs at Idaho State University. The ISU TRiO programs encompass the mission to serve students, meeting them where they are at and providing students access and opportunity to education. The TRiO programs at ISU can provide a pipeline for students in Southeastern Idaho taking them from middle school all the way through postsecondary education and beyond.
"As a first-generation student myself, I believe strongly in TRiO, the positive impact TRiO programs have on peoples' lives is without question extraordinary. I remember the trials of a first-generation student, with limited outlets for college financing and social support. It is great people that help you along the way. I have been given amazing mentors, friends, and family to share my wonderful journey. I see my work with TRiO as an opportunity to provide similar opportunities, guidance, and mentorship, to pay it forward what was given to me. I believe there is nothing better than loving your job each and every day."
