ISU 15 Passenger Van Warning

The NHTSA (National Highway Traffic Safety Administration) issued a consumer advisory on rollover propensity of fifteen-passenger vans.

In light of this, Idaho State University Transportation Services has compiled a WARNING LIST of unstable conditions that pertain to fifteen-passenger vans. This list is to make the driver aware of the unstable conditions that could lead to a rollover.

1. When loaded with 10 or more passengers (Rollover potential is three times higher.)
2. When high and irregular cross winds are present
3. When extreme maneuvers are made
4. When ice and or snow is present on the road
5. When occupants shift their weight
6. When air pressure in a tire is low
7. When one wheel (or two) drop off the pavement on a low or nonexistent shoulder or berm
8. When driving too fast for the present conditions
9. When pulling a trailer
10. We suggest you drive no more than 65 miles per hour in good conditions

I have read the above warning list and will take every precaution when driving a 15 passenger van.
