Ms. Tara Marshall Johnson, Associate Professor, Costume Design

Biography

Tara Marshall Johnson returns to ISU for her sixth year after recently working in Chicago with First Folio Shakespeare Festival on a production of The Tempest. Johnson designed an Egyptian cat-puppet for Chicago's field museum, and worked with Zaba Zaba and U Press Play Productions on the independent film, The Art of Pain.  Over the past five years Tara has enjoyed working with the local community on such projects as Musical Chairs, a Pocatello Arts Center fundraiser production, The Sound of Music with the Idaho Falls Theatre Foundation, as well as Steele & Assoc. Marketing Communication for both ISU Symphony and Idaho Falls Symphony poster designs.  In addition to working outside the university Johnson is an Associate Professor in Costume Design and Technology.  She teaches several courses including: costume history, design, construction techniques, and patterning classes for the department.  In her spare time she enjoys spending time with her son Tyler.
