Ms. Rosa Vissers, Visiting Assistant Professor, Dance
Biography
Rosa Vissers was born in the Netherlands where she received her BFA from the ArtEZ Dansacademie. After completing her conservatory dance training, studying at the Budapest Tanciskola in Hungary for three months, and apprenticing with two professional companies in the Netherlands a desire to learn more about dance brought her to the USA. Rosa moved to Salt Lake City in 2004, where she graduated with an MFA from the Department of Modern Dance in the summer of 2007. All facets of dance interest Rosa; she is excited to continue performing, teaching, choreographing and conducting research at Idaho State University. She has been the recipient of the Prins Bernhard Cultuurfonds 2004 scholarship for the fifty most promising young artists and scientists in the Netherlands, and the Hey-Konijnfonds scholarship in 2004 and 2005 from the city of Arnhem. She was a University of Utah Teaching Assistant during the 2005 - 2006 academic year and was awarded an Outstanding Service Award from the University of Utah's Department of Modern Dance in 2007. Rosa loves to travel and has performed in the Netherlands, Hungary, France, Germany and the United States.
