Ms. Molly Jorgensen, Interim Assistant Lecturer, Dance

Biography

Molly S. Jorgensen, originally from Pocatello, Idaho, just completed her Master of Fine Arts degree in Modern Dance from the University of Utah.  She holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Modern Dance from Brigham Young University.  She has performed with the Contemporary Dance Theatre (CDT), and The Dancers' Company, and has traveled with them throughout the Midwestern United States, as well as internationally - including the South Sea Islands of Tonga and Samoa, and England/Wales.  During her time in Utah she danced with the Performing Dance Company, performing pieces by Kaye Richards, Abby Fiat, and Deborah Hay.  Recently she has begun exploring dance and film creating short dance films using media and technology.  This past year Molly completed a teacher-training course with Soma Yoga in Salt Lake City and is working towards becoming a Registered Yoga Teacher.  In August 2006 she certified within the Integrated Movement Studies program, and is now a Certified Laban Movement Analyst (CLMA).  Before her graduate studies, Molly had the privilege of working as a guest artist for ISU's Danson teaching intermediate jazz and tap courses, and working as an interim assistant co-artistic director of Danson.  Besides dancing, Molly loves to be outdoors hiking, mountain biking, snow skiing, or swimming.  Currently she enjoys being a new mommy to her 9 month old son William.
