Mr. D. Brett Harwood, Associate Professor, Set and Lighting Design

Biography

D. Brett Harwood is an Associate Professor of Scenery and Lighting Design and is beginning his sixth year at ISU. Before coming to ISU, Brett was an Assistant Professor of Scenery and Lighting Design at Indiana University/Purdue University Fort Wayne (IPFW), and an Assistant Professor of Design and Theatre Technology at Montana State University, Bozeman. He holds an M.F.A. from the University of Montana, and B.S. and A.T. from ISU.  Brett's resume includes over 100 designs in both professional and academic theatre.  Some memorable designs while at ISU include: A Moon for the Misbegotten, Macbeth, The Shadow Box, and Man of La Mancha.  From 1994-1997 Brett served as resident lighting designer for Montana Shakespeare in the Parks. Other professional theatre work includes productions for: Fort Wayne Youtheatre, The Montana Repertory Theatre, and The Bigfork Summer Playhouse. He has also worked on three feature films:The River Wild, Beethoven?s 2nd and Diggstown. Over the past two years Brett has enjoyed the opportunity to direct at ISU.  The productions include Oleanna, All in the Timing, and this spring, Sleuth.  After the full schedules that theatre often provides, Brett greatly enjoys spending time with his wife Lorna, and their six children.
