Sara became interested in stream ecology as an undergraduate working as "grunt" labor for graduate students at UCA. Her own undergraduate project looked at the effects of drought on stream invertebrate communities. Sara completed her Masters Degree at ISU and is working as a lecturer in the department. She also continues to assist in the Stream Ecology Center. She is interested in aquatic invertebrate taxonomy (she especially loves Tardigrades!). She is also interested in using GIS and Remote Sensing to examine the effects of large-scale climatic changes on stream ecosystems. In her spare time Sara enjoys hiking, camping, rock climbing, and reading anything by Edward Abbey.
