First Annual SRAN Fall Conference
Our first regular fall conference was held at the Spring Creek Ranch in beautiful Jackson Hole, Wyoming. He had more than 40 attendees, with 2 keynote speakers, 20 poster presentations and 11 slide presentations. The weather was perfect, the food excellent and conversations outstanding. We were pleased by the good level of participation, even if we were unable to draw attendees from outside the southeastern Idaho/ western Wyoming region.
Second Annual Fall Conference
To be held in Sun Valley at the Sun Valley Lodge October 11th – 13th, 2007. More details will be posted at the Fall conference site tab as they become available. The call for abstracts and registration will go out in June. We intend to have another fun-filled program, including participation by the Intermountain (Salt Lake City area) Chapter members. Please forward suggestions for plenary speakers to Leslie Devaud or Curt Anderson. We will again offer travel awards for students presenting at the meeting and will post information about applying, conference registration and abstract submissions on this site early this summer.
Our organization graduated several students, who have now moved on to postdoctoral fellowships or graduate school in various programs. For example, Paul Alele received his Ph.D. in Neuropharmacology from the College of Pharmacy at ISU in December 2006 and began a postdoctoral fellowship position at St. Jude’s Medical Center, Department of Development Neuroscience, Memphis, TN in January 2007.
If you know of any one who would like to be added to the mailing list or membership list, please contact Leslie Devaud. We would like to expand our membership and are hoping that the fall conference will entice a broad regional participation.
