ISU offers a Pre-Professional Program (post-baccalaureate program) for students who graduated with a bachelor's degree in Communication Sciences & Disorders more than 10 years prior, or for those students who have a bachelor's degree or higher in another field. This program is available on both the Pocatello and Meridian campuses, as well as entirely online.

Prior to applying to an online program, please check to see if your state is served.

This three semester, 38-41 credit program will prepare students to apply to a graduate program in Speech-Language Pathology at ISU or any other accredited program in Communication Sciences. The curriculum is rich in audiological coursework, typical speech and language development as well as disorders, and includes clinical courses designed to prepare the student to work with both children and adults in graduate training.

For online students considering a switch to on-campus attendance, please remember the requirement that all students planning to attend classes on campus in Meridian have to fill out an Intent form, available from Dorys.

Audiology Pre-Professional Programs

ISU offers both an online and an on campus Audiology Pre-Professional Program. The on campus course sequence can be done in 2 semesters. It is an approximately 31-35 credit program what will prepare students to apply to our Audiology Graduate Program. The online course sequence can also be done in 2 semesters, but will most likely require coursework outside of Idaho State University. You must contact Dr. Mary Whitaker at whitmary@isu.edu prior to enrolling in the online program to ensure you will meet all the requirements necessary to apply to our Graduate Program. You may also contact Dr. Mary Whitaker if you have any questions regarding either Audiology Pre-Professional Program.
