Scholarships — Miscellaneous or Multiple Majors

Army ROTC ARMY ROTC SCHOLARSHIP PROGRAM - Scholarship benefits awarded up to annual amounts equal to tuition and allowable fees, plus allowances for books and living expenses. There is an obligation to accept a commission in the US Army, National Guard, or US Army Reserve if awarded this scholarship. All Students IMOGENE ANDERSON - Award for a full-time student with a minimum 2.75 cumulative gpa. Requires financial need. Opens for application in March.
All Students ASISU - Awarded each semester to students in each college who have completed a minimum of 12 credit hours the previous semester. Scholarships are based on academic merit & full time (at least 12 credit hours) attendance during award. Opens for application in September and January.
All Students LIONEL AND BRYANETTA BOWSER - Award for a full-time Junior or above academic or any College of Technology student with a minimum 2.00 cumulative gpa. Financial need is required. Opens for application in March.
All Students DELTA CHI FRATERNITY - One scholarship offered annually to a student demonstrating financial need & academic merit. Applicants must be nominated by a Delta Chi member. Nomination forms available in the ISU Scholarship Office. Opens for application in March.
All Students FOLLETT BOOKSTORE - Several book awards for students who have demonstrated financial need and scholastic potential. Opens for application in October.
All Students GOVERNMENT INTERNSHIP - Awarded annually to an academic student, with preference given to upper division students. Individuals selected must plan to reside in Boise during the legislative session (January - March). Opens for application in October.
All Students HAUGSE-COSSEY FOUNDATION - Variable number of awards available. Awards for Ada County residents. Awards are based on a minimum 3.00 cumulative gpa & financial need; U.S. citizenship is required. Two annual application deadlines: October 15 & May 15. Applicants must be between the ages of 16-30. All Students, Junior MARY PAT & NEIL D. HUMPHREY - An award for a Junior with financial need, who has had to work to cover educational expenses. Requires a minimum 3.00 cumulative gpa and alternates between male/female. Apply using the General Upper Class Scholarship Application. Opens for application in March.
All Students ISU WOMEN'S CLUB - Three scholarships awarded based on academic merit. One to a female sophomore in an academic major, one to an technology student & one to a child of an ISU faculty or staff employee. Opens for application in January.
All Students, Freshman or Sophomore KNIGHTS OF COLUMBUS - Scholarship offered to a freshman or sophomore students who demonstrate financial need. Preference to Roman Catholic students. Opens for application in February.

TERRY KRANNING CLIMBING - Scholarship awarded each semester to students who have participated in the Pocatello Pump Climbing Contest within the last year. Must be a Sophomore or above with a minimum 2.75 cumulative gpa. Opens for application in September and February.
All Students JIM AND ARLENE LUPHER - One award given annually to the first runner up in the Student Employee of the Year competition. Opens for application in February.
All Students AGNES JUST REID MEMORIAL - Scholarships awarded annually for a writing competition in fiction. Recipients selected by ISU English Department. Contact the English Department for more information.
All Students, Junior or Senior EDWARD M. & RUTH E. SOUTH MEMORIAL - Annual award to a Junior or Senior who demonstrates motivation, academic achievement, & leadership potential. Emphasis on campus & community involvement. Minimum 3.00 cumulative gpa required. Opens for application in February.
All Students STUDENT EMPLOYEE OF THE YEAR - One award given annually to the Student Employee of the Year. Students who have worked on campus for at least 6 months and have a minimum 2.50 cumulative gpa may be nominated by their supervisor. Opens for application in February.
All Students, Graduate TAYLOR GRADUATE FELLOWSHIP - Awarded annually to graduate students with a minimum 3.00 cumulative gpa. Contact the Office of Research for more information.
All Students, Junior HARRY S. TRUMAN AWARDS - Annual awards to students who will be Seniors during the next academic year. Applicants must be U.S. citizens, be ranked in the upper third of their class, & must have selected an undergraduate field of study that will permit admission to a graduate program leading to a career in government or public service. Application is by university nomination only. Opens for application in October.
All Students, Sophomore THEODORE F. & LUCY P. TURNER - Annual award to a Sophomore with a minimum 3.00 cumulative gpa who demonstrates campus or community involvement, or leadership. Financial need considered only in the case of a tie. Opens for application in February.
All Students TODD WALTERS MEMORIAL - A scholarship for Sophomore, Junior, or Senior students involved in student and leadership activities and who have a minimum 3.50 cumulative gpa. Apply using the General Upper Class Scholarship Application. Opens for application in March.
All Students WHITAKER-THIROS - Scholarships for Juniors or Seniors who have demonstrated a high level of skill & ability, which may or may not be focused in academics, preference to students who are immigrants to the U.S. or first generation college students and/or previous recipients. Recipients will be U. S. citizens and Idaho residents. Minimum 3.00 cumulative gpa required. Apply using the General Upper Class Scholarship Application. Opens for application in March.

Athletes SAMUEL H. BENNION ATHLETIC - Scholarships awarded to student athletes in good academic standing. Selections made by the Athletics Department.
Athletes F. W. "BILL" BERGESON MEMORIAL - Annual award to a student participating in track. Preference given to students from the Moreland/Blackfoot area. Selections made by the Athletics Department.
Athletes DALE DYKMAN - Award for a student athlete either currently competing or or having completed their eligibility in football who is in need of an additional semester of support. Selections made by the Fifth Year Aid Committee.
Athletes FIFTH YEAR STUDENT ATHLETE - Award for a fifth year student athlete who has completed their collegiate eligibility. Selections made by the Fifth Year Aid Committee.
Athletes FIRST SECURITY BANK ATHLETE ACADEMIC - Award to an athlete who graduated from an Idaho high school with preference to a female. Selections made by the Athletics Department.
Athletes LAURENCE E. GALE MEMORIAL - Annual award to a student who has completed one semester at ISU with a minimum 3.0 cumulative GPA & is participating in intercollegiate athletics (except football & basketball). Preference given to students preparing for the "medical arts" field. Selections made by the Athletics Department.
Athletes MERRILL HOGE ATHLETIC - Scholarships awarded to student athletes who graduated from Highland High School & are in good academic standing. Selections made by the Athletics Department.
Athletes DUBBY HOLT ATHLETIC - Award for a fifth year student athlete who has completed their collegiate eligibility. Preference to students with a gpa between 2.50 and 3.00. Leadership, character, involvement in student organizations, and community service shall be considered by the selection committee. Selections made by the Fifth Year Aid Committee.
Athletes KELLY 5TH YEAR - Award for a fifth year student athlete competing on the intercollegiate football team. Selections made by the Fifth Year Aid Committee.
Athletes KELLY ATHLETIC - Scholarships awarded to student athletes from either Highland or Pocatello High Schools competing on the intercollegiate football team. Selections made by the Athletics Department.
Athletes COL. DAVID V.S. KIRKPATRICK FIFTH YEAR WOMEN'S BASKETBALL - Award for a fifth year student athlete who has participated in intercollegiate women's basketball and completed their collegiate eligibility. Selections made by the Fifth Year Aid Committee.
Athletes JAMES LEESE MEMORIAL - Award for a fifth year student athlete who has participated in intercollegiate basketball and completed their collegiate eligibility. Selections made by the Fifth Year Aid Committee.
Athletes MARVIN LEWIS - Scholarships awarded to student athletes in good academic standing. Selections made by the Athletics Department.
Athletes WOODROW LUNDBERG BOOK AWARD - One award given annually to help defray book expenses for a student participating in varsity athletics at ISU. Must be a U.S. citizen. Selections made by the Athletics Department.
Athletes JESSE HUTCHINSON SMITH TRACK - Annual award to a student participating in track. At least one scholarship for a runner and one scholarship for a thrower each year. Selections made by the Athletics Department.
Athletes L.E.& T. STEPHENS ATHLETIC - Provides one or more full-fee scholarship for a Blackfoot High School or Southeastern idaho student athlete. Selections made by the Athletics Department.
Athletic related Majors LARRY ECKENRODE MEMORIAL - One scholarship awarded annually to a student pursuing a career in an athletic related field & who has performed or is performing service to the ISU Athletic department. Students must have a minimum 2.0 cumulative GPA. Opens for application in February.
Biology, Physics, Chemistry, or Engineering, Junior or Senior DR. RUSSELL L. HEATH MEMORIAL - Award made to a Junior or Senior Biology, Chemistry, Physics, or Engineering Majors with a minimum 3.50 cumulative gpa. Opens for application in March.
Chartwells Employees CHARTWELLS STUDENT EMPLOYEE - Awards for ISU students who are Chartwells employees. Minimum 3.00 cumulative gpa required. Award amounts varies with available funding. Opens for application in October and April.
Children of Simplot Employees J.R. SIMPLOT - Scholarships are awarded to children of Simplot Company employees. Announcement is made in all Simplot Company publications. April 1 application deadline. Opens for application in January.
Children of Intermountain Gas Employees INTERMOUNTAIN GAS - Scholarships are awarded to children of Intermountain Gas Employees. Announcement is made in all Intermountain Gas Publications. Opens for application in January or February.
Children of Monsanto Empoyees MONSANTO EMPLOYEES' CHILDREN - Scholarship awarded annually to a full-time student who is a child of a Monsanto Employee. Opens for application in February.
Dairy Days Participants MAGIC VALLEY DAIRY DAYS - Awarded to students who have participated in Magic Valley Dairy Days. Contact Jack Green at Farmers National Bank in Wendell for further information.
Emmett High School Graduates GOVERNOR FRANK HUNT - Scholarships available to former or current graduates of Emmett High School who demonstrate financial need. Applications available in March from the ISU Scholarship Office or Emmett High School.
Engineering, Biological or Physical Sciences, or Business Majors JOHN A. VOLKER - Scholarships available to Junior or Senior students with minimum cumulative gpas between 2.50 - 3.50 who are employed or show a high level of involvement in community or campus organization/service. Financial need is also required. Opens for application in March.
English, English Education or Counseling JAY & MARY DONNA JENSEN - Awards alternate between English or English Education and Counseling majors. Minimum 3.50 cumulative gpa. Opens for application in March.
Female P.E.O. CHAPTER B.J. MEMORIAL - The B.J. Chapter of the P.E.O. awards one scholarship to a woman, who is returning to school after a break in her education. Opens for application in February.
Females SOROPTIMIST INTERNATIONAL OF POCATELLO WOMEN'S OPPORTUNITY AWARDS - Awarded annually to female undergraduate students demonstrating financial need & responsibility. Preference given to head of household. Typically open for application September through November.
Female, Graduate P.E.O. SCHOLAR AWARDS - Several awards made to female graduate students who have at least one academic year remaining & are within two years of completing a graduate degree or advanced study or research after the current school year. Applicants must demonstrate academic excellence, maturity, & seriousness of purpose in graduate study or research. U.S. citizenship required. Opens for application in September.
Female, Junior or Senior AMERICAN BUSINESS WOMEN'S ASSOCIATION - Varying amounts awarded by various chapters to female students who show financial need. Minimum 2.50 cumulative gpa required. Opens for application in February.
Female, Junior or Senior AMERICAN ASSOCIATION OF UNIVERSITY WOMEN FOUNDATION - Variable awards given to Junior & Senior female Idaho residents who show financial need. Minimum 3.0 cumulative gpa required. Opens for application in March.
Female, Non-traditional P.E.O. LOANS & GRANTS - Awards for female U.S. or Canadian citizens who are within 24 months of completing education program & demonstrate financial need. Applicants must be continuing their education after a minimum of 12 months out of school. Opens for application in February.
Female, Non-traditional BUSINESS & PROFESSIONAL WOMEN'S FOUNDATION - Variable amount scholarships awarded to female part-time & full-time students who are 25 years of age or older. Must be U. S. citizen. Applicants must demonstrate financial need & be within 24 months of completing a program of study. Applications are available only between January 1 - April 15. Female, Non-traditional ZONTA CLUB - Annual award to a non-traditional female student. Minimum 3.00 cumulative gpa required. Must be a Sophomore at the time of the award. Applicants must have completed two full-time semesters at ISU. Preference will be given to students in Biology, Chemistry, Physics & Engineering. Opens for application in April.
Female, Single Mother VESTA LAROSA MEMORIAL - Awarded annually to a full-time, Junior or Senior, Idaho resident with preference to a single mother with children at home. Apply using the Nontraditional Scholarships application. Opens for application in February.

Foreign Language / Education ELIZABETH W. HOSKYN MEMORIAL - Awards based on merit & need to students pursuing a combined education & foreign language major. Opens for application in March.
Health-Related Majors KASISKA HEALTH SCIENCES SCHOLARSHIPS - Scholarships for students that have Idaho residency for the past 36 months, a health related major, academic merit & financial need. College of Technology, undergraduate, & graduate students are all eligible. Contact major department for more information.
International Students INTERNATIONAL STUDENT - Scholarship awarded to an international student. Contact the International Student Advisor for more information
International or Non-Traditional Students RICHARD W. MINER MEMORIAL - Scholarship awarded annually to non-traditional or international students attending 8 or more credits. Financial need is a major focus. Amount of award varies with available funding. Apply using the Nontraditional Scholarships application. Opens for application in February.
ISU Credit Union Members ISU CREDIT UNION - Several awards given each year to students who are members of the Idaho State University Credit Union. Mid February application deadline. Applications & information available from the ISU Scholarship Office. Opens for application in January.
LDS Students JAY EGGLESTON - An award with first preference given to LDS students who are majoring or minoring in Computer Information/Tech, Foreign Language or Astronomy with a minimum 3.00 cumulative gpa. Opens for application in March.
LDS Students RUTH E. PETERSEN - Annual award made to students demonstrating financial need. Must be enrolled or accepted for enrollment at the L.D.S. Institute. Freshman applicants must have a minimum 2.00 gpa; students at all other class levels must have a minimum 2.50 gpa in the most recent grading period. Contact the ISU L.D.S. Institute.
Masonic Affiliation EASTERN STAR - $250 scholarship awarded to members of Job's Daughters, DeMolay and/or Rainbow for Girls. Applicants may be any age & can be graduating high school seniors, current, reentering, or prospective ISU students. Applications are available from the ISU Scholarship Office. Apx. February 15 application deadline. Additional scholarships may be applied for through Individual chapters. Opens for application in December.
Math, Engineering, Natural Science, or Pre-Med Majors, Junior or Senior BARRY GOLDWATER - Approximately 300 scholarships (a maximum of $7,000 per year, per student, for up to two years) are awarded to Sophomores or Juniors in the upper fourth of their class. Minimum 3.0 cumulative gpa required. Recipient must be U.S. citizen, resident alien, or a U.S. national. Must be enrolled in an undergraduate field of study that will lead to a career in math, natural sciences or eligible engineering discipline. Pre-med students planning a research career rather than private practice are eligible. Opens for application in October. Please check with major department for details.
Musicians IDAHO STATE CIVIC SYMPHONY - Scholarships awarded to students participating in the Idaho State Civic Symphony with a minimum 2.0 cumulative gpa. Contact Dr. Thom Ritter George, Conductor/Music Director.
Musicians MUSIC - Scholarships awarded to students participating in various musical groups (Symphonic Band, Choir, Marching Band, etc.) with minimum 2.00 cumulative gpas. Contact the Music Department.
Non-Traditional Students RURAL AMERICAN SCHOLARSHIP FUND - Scholarships offered to students who missed the opportunity for college upon the completion of high school & are at least 23 years of age. Minimum of 90 credits, & a minimum 2.80 cumulative gpa with full time attendance given preference. Opens for application in December or January.
Non-Traditional Students NON-TRADITIONAL STUDENT - Awards are made annually to individuals who have been out of high school or stopped attending college for a minimum of five years (10 semesters) and is attending full or part-time. Financial need, U.S. citizenship & Idaho residency are required. Two letters of reference and having applied for Federal Financial Aid are required. Apply using the Nontraditional Scholarships application. Opens for application in February.
Non-Traditional Students US BANK NON-TRADITIONAL STUDENT - An award to full-time, non-traditional Idaho residents who are entering or re-entering Idaho State University after a break in their formal education. Apply using the Nontraditional Scholarships application. Opens for application in February.
P.E.O., Dependents of Living or Deceased Members P.E.O. SARGENT MEMORIAL - Annual award to new or continuing academic or technology students. Must be a member or spouse, child, or grandchild of a living or deceased Idaho chapter member of an Idaho State Chapter of the P.E.O. Sisterhood. Applications available from the ISU Scholarship Office. Opens for application in January.
Pharmacy/ Engineering or Computer Science Majors A.D. & IRENE S. ROUNDS - Recipients need to demonstrate financial need and have a minimum 2.0 cumulative gpa. Awards will alternate between Pharmacy and Engineering or Computer Science. Contact major department for more information.
Pre-Law or Education Majors BYRON M. SKAUG MEMORIAL - Scholarship award that alternates between Pre-Law & Education Majors. Award can be renewed. Contact the ISU Scholarship Office for more information.
Public Health Students IVAN FRAZIER MEMORIAL - $200 scholarship awarded to upper division & graduate students interested in a career in public health. Students who are currently Juniors, Seniors, or Graduate students are eligible to apply. Minimum 2.50 cumulative gpa required. Opens for application in February.
Single Parents NELLIE MCCASKILL - Preference is given to full-time students who are single parents, demonstrate financial need, and reside in Southeastern Idaho. Apply using the Nontraditional Scholarships application. Opens for application in February.
Students from Caribou County JESSIE MOORE GAGON - Numerous scholarships available annually. Caribou County residents are given preference. Minimum 3.00 cumulative gpa required. Opens for application in January with an annual February 15 deadline.
Students from Lemhi or Custer County STEELE-REESE FOUNDATION - Scholarships of varying amounts available to residents of Idaho's Lemhi or Custer counties. Minimum 3.00 cumulative gpa required. Applicants must demonstrate financial need. Opens for application in January with an annual February 15 deadline.
Students with Disabilities AMERICANS WITH DISABILITIES ACT - Awarded to a student who qualifies under the ADA, with a minimum 2.00 cumulative gpa, who demonstrates financial need. Opens for application in February.
Students with Disabilities GREGORY GILE MEMORIAL - Awards made to Idaho high school graduates or continuing college students with epilepsy. Students with Disabilites NATIONAL FEDERATION OF THE BLIND - Awards ranging in amount from $500 to $6,000 are available to blind persons. Recipients need not be Federation members. Applications are to be submitted by March 31 of each year. Opens for application in January.
Study Abroad ROTARY INTERNATIONAL FOUNDATION - Scholarships awarded to undergraduates, graduates, College of Technology, teachers of the handicapped & journalists who wish to study abroad. Contact local Rotary Club for information. Opens for application in January.
VMCCA Member or Relative VETERAN MOTOR CAR CLUB OF AMERICA-TRI CITY CHAPTER - Scholarship with preference to members, children or grandchildren of VMCCA members. May be awarded to student enrolled in the College of Technology. Must be a resident of Idaho and have a minimum 2.50 cumulative gpa. Opens for application in February.
WWII Veteran Descendants IWO JIMA - A scholarship awarded every semester to students who are majoring in Engineering (Second preference to Nursing, Third preference to Any Major)& are descendant of a World War II Veteran with preference to those who participated in the Battle of Iwo Jima.
