Profile
Mezzo-soprano Kathleen Lane taught voice for five years at the Yale University School of Drama prior to joining the faculty at ISU. She directs the ISU Women's Choir and ISU opera productions, and teaches voice. Among her Idaho voice recitals are two lecture recitals: "Emily Dickinson Sings" and "The German Romantics". In 2005 she was featured in a scholarship concert singing the Berlioz Les Nuits d'Ete. As director of the ISU Opera Workshop she has co-produced Carlisle Floyd's Susannah, in 1996, and Johann Strauss's Die Fledermaus in 1998.
Prof. Lane's vocal studies include such prominent teachers as Lucille Evans, Jerrold Siena, Richard Ialli, and Ruth Dobson. She currently serves on the executive board of the Phi Kappa Phi Honor Society, and she is a member of the National Assocation of Teachers of Singing, and the Musical Educators National Conference.
