The 1960s brought further growth and change. In 1962, Alameda was annexed to the city making Pocatello momentarily Idaho’s largest city, paving the way for university status to be conferred upon the institution in 1963. The 1960s also brought many new buildings (e.g. in the next slide, R = the physical science building in 1962; A = the Education Building; B = new dormitories in 1965 and 1966).
