Daekyung (Danny) Kim, Professor - Media Specialist
Daekyung (Danny) Kim is an associate professor of digital media. Professor Kim joined the Department of Mass Communication in the fall of 2006. He received his Ph.D. from Southern Illinois University at Carbondale (SIUC) and his M.A. and B.A. from Dong-A University, Korea.
His research areas focus on political and social effects of new communication technologies, international communication, computer-mediated communication, and online journalism.
Dr. Kim has presented a number of research papers at national and international conferences and he is a member of the Association for Education in Journalism and Mass Communication (AEJMC), Broadcast Education Association (BEA) and International Communication Association (ICA). Dr. Kim was the recipient of the research paper award at AEJMC and BEA conferences.
His research work has appeared in Asian Journal of Communication, Web Journal of Mass Communication Research, Atlantic Journal of Communication, International Communication Gazette, Korean Journal of Communication & Information, Telematics & Informatics, and Journal of Computer-Mediate Communication.
Professor Kim teaches Introduction to Mass Media, Photo and Graphic Design, Communication through Web Design, Applied Research Methods, and Web Design Through Communication at Idaho State University.
