Advising Policy and Procedure
We all know how important advising is...
Good advising can make your experience at college rewarding, and most likely, less expensive! A good, professional relationship with your advisor can last a lifetime and will benefit you, your advisor, and the Mass Comm department greatly.
The following guidelines are meant to help you.
- All MC students must be advised each semester for the following academic term.
- Advising takes place beginning the day that printed class schedules are distributed.
- Each advisor has an appointment sheet. Sign up for your time with your advisor.
- Juniors and seniors students are advised in the first week of advising. Freshmen and sophomores are advised in the second week. Class standing is based on the number of anticipated hours the student has at the end of the current term.
- Blocks will be lifted from classes only when an advising slip has been signed by your advisor and processed by the department.
- Mass Comm majors will receive an email from the department informing them of when advising will be scheduled each term.
