Jerry

The "Boss"

Jerry has been the General Manager of KISU radio for over six years now. He is a native of southeast Idaho and cut his public radio teeth when he was an intern to Bruce Christensen at BYU. Christensen later went on to become the President and CEO of the Public Broadcasting System (PBS).

His career includes over 23 years in commercial radio, including 12 years as the play-by-play voice for ISU men's football and basketball. With experience broadcasting games for the Utah Jazz of the NBA and numerous high schools and universities, he was named the Idaho Sportscaster of the Year in 1985. Jerry is in his fifth year (or so) as the voice of ISU women's basketball. He has also won numerous awards for his work as a news and sports reporter.

Jerry says the best thing about being at KISU is the opportunity to work with some great students. Most recently he was responsible for KISU increasing its broadcast power from 410 watts to 4500 watts, a task that took over three years to complete. He says he will continue to work to make KISU-FM one of the most effective tools Idaho State University has in its role of serving not only eastern Idaho, but the entire state.
