November 28, 2007: Threats from Ionizing Radiation

This Virtual Grand Round aims to provide students with an understanding of the magnitude of absorbed dose from ionizing radiation required to produce deterministic effects, it provides students with an understanding of the signs and symptoms associated with the radiation sickness syndrome and then leads a discussion of the physiological response of humans to very high absorbed doses of ionizing radiation.
