Goal: Outstanding Dentists
The
Idaho Dental Education Program's goal is to provide the State of Idaho
with outstanding dental professionals using our own residents. Graduates
of the Idaho Dental Education Program (IDEP) learn to practice today's
dentistry at its finest. Graduates have the background to evaluate
changes and future treatment methods as they relate to individual patient
care. IDEP is proud to produce dental professional for today and
tomorrow.
Serving
as Idaho's dental school, the Program is a cooperative effort of Creighton
University School of Dentistry in Omaha, Nebraska and Idaho State University's
College of Health Professions.
Curriculum
The program involves a decentralized first year of education taught at Idaho State University and second through fourth years taught at Creighton University. Low faculty to student ratio (1:7), and high quality of the IDEP faculty provide students with the unparalleled learning experience in the first year. Combined with the high caliber instruction at Creighton, the Idaho students graduate with the finest dental education available. First year courses are primarily basic science and introductory dental science sources. Second- fourth years are comprised of the regular Creighton curriculum with the availability of elective clinical experiences in Idaho.
Accreditation
The ISU IDEP program is fully accredited by the American Dental Association as a satellite of the Creighton Dental School.
