Thesis Title: TBA Research Advisor: Dr. Mikle Ellis Teacher Partner: Mike Sullivan Degree Sought: Masters of Science in Measurement and Controls Engineering University Department and/or Lab: College of Electrical Engineering Research Focus: Currently exploring different research topics. An example of how you integrate your research into your GK-12 experience: Often, students are biased about political issues before they even have a chance to investigate the topic for themselves. This pre-biasing is typically from the parents or mentors of the child. I would like to be able to establish projects that will help get them more familiar with actual energy consumption and ways that energy is supplied to the given demand. I plan on using their interests to specifically direct the progress of the labs and projects, but the initial idea will be to monitor the energy consumption of our classroom, the vending machines, and various other areas of the school to be able to determine the possible energy savings that we could come up with. |
