Study abroad provides immersion in the culture and university life of another culture and the Department of Languages and Literatures strongly encourages its majors and minors to spend time studying in a foreign country. We offer study abroad opportunities through ISU's Office of International Programs and Services. This office facilitates all aspects of the study abroad process, from application procedures, to visa requirements, to transfer of credit.
The Office of International Programs facilitates our largest exchange program through the International Student Exchange Service (ISEP), a reciprocal exchange program. With ISEP students can study in another country for approximately the same amount as at ISU. In addition to the ISEP member institutions, we have bilateral exhange agreements with the Universidad de Valencia and the Universidad PolitÚcnica de Valencia in Spain, Universitńt Paderborn in Germany, Kansai Gaidai University and KCP International Language Institute in Japan, and AL Akhawayn University in Morocco.
