Report Generation Guidelines
Quiz Specialist
Each office requesting reports from their own system will be asked to assign at least one report designer (Quiz Specialist). This person will be asked to call their analyst to receive basic Quiz assistance.
Departmental Report Development
Departments will be expected to produce their own reports with assistance as required from an IT staff member. Following are additional guidelines:
-
Quiz reports integral to the system will be designed and written by the IT staff member and implemented initially with the system.
-
Reports which are integral to a system but are not in place at the conclusion of system development should be written by the Computer Center with approval from management.
-
For existing systems, when customers request reports, the IT staff member should attempt to assess the criticality and urgency. If the IT staff member feels the Computer Center should write the report they should contact the supervisor either personally or through email to relay that decision. Otherwise, departments should be asked to produce the report with their own resources or contact management.
-
Adequate opportunity for a customer to receive Quiz training will be provided. Low priority may be assigned to reports for departments who have not taken the opportunity to learn.
Report Development for Foreign Departments
Policy regarding reports from a system which does not belong to the requesting office.
-
Occasional customers of another's system should be referred to the department owning the data for report development. The department owning the data will be expected to produce the report as outlined below.
-
Frequent SID users, authorized by the Registrar, may produce their own reports from SID and should be encouraged to do so.
