Physical Therapy Program Information
Introduction
The Doctor of Physical Therapy (DPT) is a professional entry level degree program preparing students for licensure to practice as physical therapists. The program is accredited by the Commission on Accreditation in Physical Therapy Education of the American Physical Therapy Association (CAPTE).
The Doctor of Physical Therapy was granted accreditation status by the Commission on Accreditation in Physical Therapy Education in April of 2002. Program Mission
the primary mission of the Doctor of Physical Therapy Program is to provide entry-level education in a supportive learning environment fostering diverse and interdisciplinary didactic and clinical experiences, clinical skill acquisition, and a desire for lifelong learning to enhance the delivery of physical therapy services and the profession. Further, the program emphasizes faculty and student enrichment through scholarly endeavors, teaching, service, and clinical practice contributions within their areas of expertise.
Program Goals
- Prepare physical therapists at the graduate level who have the skills and abilities accessary to become professionals.
- Promote and provide physical therapy services to residents of Idaho including under-served populations.
- Increase the availability and diversity of continuing education and interdisciplinary collaboration for physical therapists in the state of Idaho and surrounding regions.

- Physical Therapy Program Application - for entry Fall 2009
- As part of your Physical Therapy/Occupational Therapy program, you will be placed in several off-campus sites for clinical training. You will be required to successfully complete a series of immunizations, drug testing and a criminal background check prior to entering the program. Once the acceptance form is received you will be sent a list of these immunizations.
- Conviction of a felony or other serious offense will likely result in denial of placement for the clinical assignment, and consequently affect your standing in the program.
- If you have any questions about whether your criminal history, if any, will prevent or restrict your ability to obtain a license in this field, you should discuss this with the appropriate licensing agency or board.
