Student Activities
Students enrolled in the dental hygiene program join the ISU Student Chapter of the American Dental Hygienists' Association, the professional organization through which students can become knowledgeable in current concepts and legislation in their chosen profession. The objective of this association is to familiarize students with their professional organization through local, state, regional and national activities.
Idaho State University offers a wide variety of activities designed to provide an atmosphere in which students can develop personal, social and cultural relations. The student activity center provides leisure-time facilities in addition to its year-round program of special recreation, creative and cultural events. Students are actively involved in sponsoring the appearances of noted personalities of the entertainment world, concerts, dances and art exhibits.
Athletic activities for men and women are available on a varsity level or in intramural programs which are scheduled according to players' interests. Athletic facilities include the Holt Arena - an enclosed sports facility which accommodates football, indoor track, intramural, and community events. Men's and women's basketball is played in the Reed Gymnasium complex. This complex houses an Olympic-sized swimming pool, racquetball and handball courts, indoor track, gymnasium, rock climbing wall, rifle range, and indoor as well as outdoor tennis courts. Also housed in the complex is the ISU Fitness and Wellness Center, complete with modern aerobic and weight training equipment. Davis and Bartz Fields are used for student participation in track and field events, as well as baseball, softball, soccer, and rugby.
