Local Anesthesia for Dental Hygienists Cotninuing Education Course Offering
Through a variety of competitive funding sources (e.g., Statewide Technology Initiative Grant Program and the ISU Committee for Supplemental Academic computing Grant Program) the Department of Dental Hygiene was able to acquire equipment to enhance our educational technology. Faculty members applied for and received funding to purchase 4 laptop computers and R.A.T.'s for use with clinical software, 2 other computers to enhance educational activities, and equipment for digital radiology in one radiology room in the clinic. Additionally, with the aid of contributions of our alumni during the annual phone-a-thon, we were able to acquire a digital panoramic machine. The ISU Department of Dental Hygiene wishes to recongize Patterson Dental Supply, Inc., Boise Branch for their generous donations of software, manpower, and consulting given to ISU to support and enhance one of these grants. Another grant was awarded to establish needed software, training modules, and a pilot program for student e-portfolios (an electronic accumulation of work to demonstrate learning/competence). This grant is an interdepartmental endeavor among health disciplines in the Kasiska College of Health Professions.
