CEU Information
What are CEUs?
Continuing Education Units (CEUs) are the way of recording contact hours (for relicensing, promotions, maintaining professional memberships and registrations etc.). This is a nationally recognized standard as defined by IACET, the International Association for Continuing Education and Training, which verifies quality content and instruction. Each hour in an approved class is recorded as 1/10 CEU. CEUs do not accumulate for college credit. Additional information about CEUs can be found here.
Submitting an event for CEU approval
The Division of Continuing Education ultimately approves all ISU-issued CEUs. For a course, workshop, or in-service to be considered for CEU recording, an application form must be completed.
If you are an Idaho State University employee, please go to http://www.isu.edu/acadaff/conteduc.shtml to download the C.E. Approval Form (CEAF) and follow the instructions outlined in the "Process for CE Approval" document.
If you are not associated with Idaho State University, please call Victoria at (208) 282-1049 for further information on how to submit your event for CEU approval.
Cost
There is currently no application fee for an organization to have its events reviewed for CEU approval. However, there is a $20.00 CEU recording fee per person for each session or course.
For additional information, please call Shirley or Victoria at (208) 282-3155.
