Reed Gym Swimming Pool
Welcome to Reed Gym
Pool. Built in 1951, the pool has seen many changes over the
past 5 decades. Diving boards once resided at the end of the
deep end. Emergency exits were installed for the balcony's in
the late 90's. The plumbing and chemical systems have seen several
upgrades since the original construction. This pool once served
as the home of the ISU collegiate swim team.
Currently the swimming pool
is used for lap swims, recreational swims (family/combo), aquacise
classes, kayaking, swim meets, P. E. classes, intramural's and
pool rentals.
Kickboards, pull buoy's, and
hand paddles are provided for use during lap and recreation
(family/combo swims)
Children under the age of 18
must have an adult in attendance at all times in the pool area.
Additional rules may apply for non-swimmers or persons under
48" tall.
Men's and women's locker rooms
are located on either side of the pool area and contain showers,
dressing areas, restrooms and lockers. The men's and women's
locker rooms both have a sauna.
