'We must view with profound respect the infinite capacity of the human mind to resist the introduction of useful knowledge.'

Lab Coordination

Regardless of a student’s future pursuits in the field of biology, the introduction to biological processes and protocols in a laboratory setting can only expand a student’s view of the world. Therefore, the effective implementation of introductory biology laboratories (BIOL 100L, 101L, & 102L) at ISU is necessary if students are to acquire a basic foundation in biology.

Important aspects of coordination include training and supervising graduate teaching assistants in regards to each lab exercise, laboratory safety and maintenance, and constructive learning environments. Other aspects include writing, editing, and reviewing laboratory manuals, creating and maintaining Moodle websites, and organizing and maintaining the supplies and teaching collections specific to introductory biology courses.
