Color Control Bar

Color Control Bar

This sample has been altered for better viewing online, typically the control bar would be in one length across the top or bottom of the sheet.

Color control bars are used by the press operator to continuously monitor ink density and verify that the press is printing consistently.

The color control bar at the top and bottom of the target is a repeating pattern of solid tint patches. Each control bar has several ink zones including: tint patches, solid patches, three-color neutral gray patches, star targets, RGB overprints, and Total Area Coverage (TAC) patches.

Checking these zones allows for more consistent color for the customer and less waste for the printer.
