Overview

We watch our alumni closely through the years as they go on to succeed in life and in their careers. We honor them for their accomplishments, whether they be professional, philanthropic, personal or otherwise.

Awards and recognitions available for nomination include:

Sports Hall of Fame

The Sports Hall of Fame induction ceremony is held in the fall and is reserved for athletes, coaches, or support/auxiliary personnel who have a record of excellent performance with Idaho State University, have brought distinction and honor to the University and have demonstrated outstanding support or service to the University, contributing to the advancement of intercollegiate athletics.

Outstanding Student Achievement Awards

Outstanding Student Achievement Award recipients are students who excel as well-rounded and successful members of their campus and community. Each year, the Alumni Association and the ISU Ambassadors seeks to recognize Idaho State University’s outstanding students. The Outstanding Student Achievement Award recognizes student excellence, dedication to academic and professional goals, and community involvement. One student is recognized from each college with the exception of the College of Arts and Sciences, which gives three; Awards also are given to an outstanding Master’s candidate and an outstanding Doctoral candidate. The criterion for selection includes readiness to graduate; high academic achievement; above-average dedication to academic and professional goals including internships, special projects and papers; and involvement in professional societies. Work experience and community service are also considered. Nominations are accepted year round. The deadline for submitting nominations it typically the last week in January of each calender year.

Professional Achievement Awards

Presented at Commencement, this award is given to an alumnus or alumna from each college who has made important contributions to his or her career or profession, to the social, political or economic well-being of the world around them and has shown continued community and civic involvement, association with ISU and contributions to the University. Alumni Special Friend Awards

The Alumni Special Friend Award is given only occasionally when an individual's extraordinary service and support warrant it. The Association recognizes great contributions from friends of the University who might not be alumni, but show an undying love for the institution through their deeds and involvement.
