Credit Courses

All-University Courses (ACAD prefix) are designed to help students maximize their academic success at Idaho State University. These courses are recommended for traditional and non-traditional students in all majors and class levels.

All-University Courses span the continuum of learning. Providing first year students a strong foundation for their academic experience. For upper level students, the classes assist the learning process for a broad range of courses.

ACAD 101 College Learning Strategies (1 credit)

This course covers learning strategies and study techniques which promote academic success. Topics include:

ACAD 102 First Year Seminars (1 credit)

This course offers an extended orientation to the university. Information includes:

ACAD 103 College Learning Strategies for Mathematics (1 credit)

ACAD 210 Peer Tutor Training (1 credit)

This course is an introduction to individual and small group tutoring with adult students. Emphasis in placed on:

ACAD 220 Peer Instruction Seminar (2 credits)

Students who are teaching peers in a Fist Year Seminar class take this seminar. As peer instructors students collaborate with their faculty and staff teaching partners in preparing for and teaching one section of FYS, ACAD 102. ACAD 220 students learn:
