College of Technology Community Relations
We invite you to visit our campus and discover what makes the College of Technology an exciting place to receive an education!
A campus visit is the best way for you and your family to learn about all of our programs, services, and the campus community. Our tours are designed to allow prospective students the opportunity to visit programs of interest, meet instructors, and obtain specific educational information.
In addition to campus tours and recruitment, our Community Relations staff handles media inquiries and visits, advertising, marketing materials, publications, and event coordination for the College of Technology. Please contact us if you have any questions and we look forward to seeing you on campus.
CAMPUS TOURS AND VISITS
Program Tours are offered Monday through Friday when regular classes are in session. A program tour typically lasts about one hour and includes time to meet instructors and tour labs and classrooms. Prospective students also have the opportunity to schedule a full tour of the Idaho State University campus, a student housing tour, and meet with an adviser about admittance in the College of Technology.
Program Shadows are an in-depth look into the classes and lab work offered in our programs. These visits may range from two hours to a full day spent in a specific program. These visits require at least two weeks notice to schedule and coordinate. Overnight accommodations may be made available if you are coming for a program shadow.
Group Tours for high schools and other organizations are offered Thursday mornings when classes are in session. These tours are designed for high school career classes or specific groups whose curriculum or program will be enhanced by having expanded knowledge of technical education. Tour participants will be given an overview of the College of Technology and Idaho State University prior to touring previously selected programs. Tours of programs housed off the main campus require additional plans and do not include transportation.
MEDIA RELATIONS
Community Relations coordinates all media inquiries and visits related to College of Technology news, special events, and promotion of programs. This includes development and distribution of news releases to local and regional media outlets.
TECH EXPO
The Tech Expo is held in the spring of each year inside the ISU Holt Arena. The Tech Expo highlights business, industry, and educational opportunities in the region while promoting professional-technical education. The event is free and open to the public. Participants can find information on how to begin their education for a career, how to upgrade their education and skills, or train for a new career.
