Geomatics Technology

The Program
Geomatics Technology is an exciting field that offers the student the ability to use the latest technology in the office and outdoors in a small class environment. Geomatics Technology uses modern ground aerial and satellite technologies and computers for data processing.
The demand for surveyors has never been greater and the new Geomatics Technology program at Idaho State University offers students several ways to get into this exciting and rewarding field. First, you can test the waters by enrolling in the two-year Civil Engineering Technology program and get the field skills you need to get a job. Continue classes for the next two years, earn a bachelor in science degree, and get the advanced education and training that you need to work at the professional level. You may also pursue registration as a Professional Land Surveyor, or start your academic career directly in the B.S. program.
We offer small class sizes that emphasize actual project work both in the field and in the office. You'll enter the profession with the education and skills that you need to succeed.
Idaho State University College of Technology offers an excellent educational environment with the latest in computers, software and surveying equipment, such as electronic total stations, GPS receivers, data collectors, and softcopy photogrammetric system.
