 Tutoring Center

Tutor working with a student in the computerlab

Resource Center

The Resource Center uses peer tutors (group or one on one tutoring), computer software, two full-time instructional aides, and two computer labs to offer assistance. Two full full-time instructional aides are available in the center to assist with computer help, keyboarding, specific program help, and general basic skills. For those requiring more remediation, computer software is available to enhance both general and specific knowledge. Labs have been established to assist with reports, writing, and research for assignments given in class. A math lab headed by an instructor is available four days a week.

Peer tutors are advanced students in the same program as the students needing help. These tutors are recommended by their instructors and are available after regular class hours, evenings, or at noon to accommodate the students needs. They are trained to guide the student toward a solution, not give the answers.

Students are encouraged to seek help early in their academic semester from the Resource Center. Students can get help from the staff at the Resource Center from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday.
