Computer Based Testing

Computer Placement Testing 

Computer Placement Testing is offered in Graveley Hall South, 2nd Floor Testing Center, Room 251. For questions concerning the placement tests, please call (208) 282-4907

For placement in ISU Math, English and Foreign Language classes. Testing is available 9:00 am to 3:00 pm Monday - Friday on a walk-in basis. Each test takes between 15 and 30 minutes. There is a $5 per test, sitting fee for Math and English. There is no sitting fee for the Foreign Language placement tests.  Photo ID is required!

We are an authorized Prometric Test Center

As a Prometric Test Center some of the over 300 tests now available are the:

GRE: Graduate Record Examination, required by most departments for admittance to graduate school. For test prep software go to GRE Prep Download.

PRAXIS I: Required for admittance to the College of Education, the Pre-Professional Skills Test evaluates basic reading, writing, and math skills. To register for PRAXIS testing call 1-(800) 853-6773.

PANCE/PANRE: License or recertification for those that have graduated the Physician Assistant program.

DAT: Dental Admission Test for those applying to Dental Schools.

MCAT: Medical College Admission Test for those applying to Medical Schools, only available on national testing days.

NASD/FINRA: Licensing and recertification for financial advisors and brokers.

CPA: Licensure for Certified Public Accountants.

All tests are computer based and may be scheduled at www.Prometric.com or by calling 1-800-967-1100. Test Preparation and study materials may be available through www.kaplan.com or the Prometric website.

 


Clep

As an official Prometric Testing Center, we are capable of administering any computer based test that is offered through ETS/Prometric. Please contact our office for more information or visit the Educational Testing Service or prometric.com web site.

MILLER ANALOGY TESTING
We are pleased to announce that the Miller Analogy Test (MAT) is now available in Idaho Falls.

The Miller Analogies Test is a computer based test and is a test taken by graduate students.  The candidates usually have the option of taking the Miller Analogies Test (MAT), or the GRE (See Prometric-computer based testing above).

Score results are available immediately following the test. The MAT is available Monday-Wednesday at 8:30 am or 1:30 pm. In order to schedule the candidate must pre-pay the $100 sitting fee. This fee is NON-REFUNDABLE. The sitting fee may be paid on the second floor, of Graveley Hall, room 251. Payment options include cash or personal check. Walk-in testing is an option; please call the Testing Center to check availability or to set up an appointment (282-2130).

ACT Center - Computer Based Testing  
 
Idaho State University and ACT of Iowa City have partnered to establish an ACT Center.     

The ISU Testing Center administers the following high stakes computer based certification and licensure tests.

    ASWB      Social Work Licensure Exams (Bachelors, Masters, and Clinical)
    ASE          Automotive Service Excellence
    ADA-RD    American Dietetics Association-Registered Dietetic Exam

    Operating hours for the ISU ACT Center are Thursday and Friday every week as well one Saturday per month based on need.  To register for the test call ACT Scheduling at 800-205-6366.  See directions to the ISU Testing Center at this site or call 208-282-2130.


Test of Essential Academic Skills (TEAS)

The Test of Essential Academic Skills (TEAS) is required for admission to ISU Department of Nursing. An optional study guide is available for purchase by students at the ATI website.  http://www.atitesting.com

Appointments can be made at the ISU Testing Center (282-4907) or Idaho Falls Testing Center (282-7750).  Payment guarantees your seat.  If registering by mail, please send it to the address listed below. Checks should be made out to ISU and include the name, phone #, and test name.  If paying by mail, please call the center in approximately 2-3 days to schedule your appointment.  

Current PHOTO ID with photo and signature is required on the day of test.

Paper Based Testing

GED

  *The GED consists of five tests: Science, Social Studies, Reading, Math, and Writing. Individual tests are offered at specific dates and times, for a complete schedule contact the GED Testing Center at (208) 282-4907.

You must make an appointment prior to testing. 
*Each exam is given at a specific time during a testing session.

IDAHO HIGH SCHOOL EQUIVALENCY CERTIFICATE (HSE)

An HSE is not the same as a High School Diploma; it is the GED with an American Government course.

1. How to Register and what is the fee?

Pre-registration and payment of a $40 non-refundable fee is due at the time of registration. If registering by mail, please send it to the following address. Checks should be made out to ISU and include the name, phone #, SS# and test date.  Current Photo Identification is required on the day of test.

2. What is the Residual ACT and when is it offered?
The Residual ACT is offered each semester for students who haven't taken the ACT on the national test dates. Residual ACT scores are not transferable to other educational institutions.  To see the test dates, please visit our test schedule.

3. What is the ACT?
The ACT assessment is a standardized exam used for admission purposes. The exam measures skills in English, Mathematics, Reading, and Science.
