Chapter 2: Hearing Aids and Assitive Devices
Activities
Hearing
Loss Experience - This activity directs the learner on how to properly
insert an instructor-supplied earplug through a brief slide show. It then
instructs them to use it for at least four hours of their day and provides
an outline for writing a summary of their experience. The activity suggests a 2 page summary, however, you may be able to convey your experience in as little as 1/2 of a page.
Hearing Aid Experience - This activity directs the learner on the correct
way to place an instructor-supplied hearing aid in their ear. This is done
through a brief slide show. Another slide show directs the learner on how
to create a simple temporary mold using common clinical materials. Finally,
there is an outline to assist the learner in writing a summary of their
experience.
