Founding Dean
College of Science and Engineering

Welcome to ISU's College of Science and Engineering!

On July 1, 2010, the science departments from the former College of Arts and Sciences, and the engineering departments from the former College of Engineering, were reorganized into the College of Science and Engineering.

Departments in the College of Science and Engineering include:

With one glance at the disciplines in these departments, one can see the synergy that exists for collaboration between science and engineering (including computing). There are many examples and possibilities for close collaboration including Energy Studies, Biomedical Sciences and Engineering, Applied Physics and Electrical Engineering, Geosciences and Civil Engineering, Robotics and Mechanical Engineering, Applied Mathematics, Physics and Nuclear Engineering, and the list goes on.

Funding agencies like the National Science Foundation, the National Institute of Health, and the Department of Energy, including the Idaho National Laboratory, and the Center for Advanced Energy Studies, encourage very close collaborations between disciplines existing in the departments in the College of Science and Engineering.

Faculty, staff and students will be able to work together to improve STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics) education and engage in multidisciplinary research projects.

Please visit the pages of each department of interest. If you have questions, please do not hesitate to contact an individual department, or Ms. Miriam Dance, Student Services and Public Relations Specialist for the College of Science and Engineering. We hope to see you in our classes and open house activities in the near future. You may stop by for a visit any time.
