Keynote Speaker: Kate Schorzman
Kate Schorzman is a native of Pocatello and graduated from Pocatello High School in 1999. She has grown up around the cabinet industry and always had a natural knack for woodworking. Over the past 13 years she has developed her craft from custom woodworking and finishing, to sales and cabinet design. Currently she is the sales manager at a custom cabinet shop and loves to help design and create dream kitchens and home makeovers.
Her talents and skills landed her a spot on the second season of the HGTV reality television competition "All American Handyman" in New York. Competing against the top 20 applicants from across the United States, Kate finished in sixth place. Since the show has aired, she launched a website selling furniture she makes from her home studio.
Kate plans on continuing her education at Idaho State University to pursue an art degree to enhance her creativity. She volunteers with the Special Olympics, is active in community sports and loves to compete, having completed her first marathon last year in Pocatello. Kate continues her quest to educate and encourage women to join the non-traditional work force.
